I spotted Suzi Mclaughlin's work at Interiors UK last month, a Textile Design graduate who produces amazing paper, silk and leather designs with paper using origami and laser cutting techniques. I particularly like these white paper designs set into chunky box frames, fabulous and original wall art.
This blog has evolved from a deep passion and appreciation for interior design, trends, sourcing, art, travel, photography and lifestyle. I am totally immersed in a world of beautiful surroundings, colour and texture. This is a place to share my style, taste, inspiration and research with the world

West Elm - Moroccan one-of-a-kind products, new collection
As you are all now probably aware, one of my favourite travel destinations is Marrakech.
Yesterday I spotted that West Elm have a new Moroccan collection, exquisite vintage wedding blankets, Berber rugs, pouffes, vintage trays and more...
One of the leading online home decor stores with a reputation for offering great design at affordable prices. I love how they source modern, natural products with clean lines. They also work with artisans and non profit workshops around the world.
This vintage wedding blanket is one of my next purchases, traditionally given to Berber brides-to-be by their female relatives to ward off evil spirits, these blankets bring good luck and triple as throws, rugs or wall hangings.

One To Watch - Sustainability, Unique Upcycled Products
London born Jo Gibbs transforms the abandoned to the sublime by etching lace patterns on to various different objects.
Her background in textile design shines through in her work, which tackles her concerns about the lack of sustainability in the creation of new items.
She explores the changing fortunes of lace as currency and its ability to express social standing by using ‘upcycling’ as a method in her work and by creating a brand new method called ‘Netching’, a method of transferring lace patterns onto the surfaces of overlooked items. In this way, she breathes new life into objects in a completely sustainable way.
This process is the culmination with her fascination with etching and masking using alternative media
Her work is aimed at people who want one-off unique items.

Organic Glamour
During my last trip to Marrakesh, I sourced these exquisite cushions which I am totally in love with, made from vintage wedding blankets, 'handira'
Hand-loomed from sheep's wool and cotton in tiny Berber villages high in the Atlas mountains. Tradition and skills are passed from generation to generation, prospective brides and their relatives patiently sewed each sequin by hand.
These cushions are available in different sizes and can be sold with or without a feather pad. I only source pieces in pristine condition and different styles are also available.
